Gearing up for V-Day on 5 North

Tonight at work some of the girls and I decided to breakout the Valentines day decorations. I have seen all kinds of ideas for making hearts including this one made of post-it notes. We had a lot of fun finding fun and sweet love quotes to send out to the Veterans we serve.

You gotta love the nights that are slow enough to do crafty stuff like this!

{Foxy}

This funny little man Court, Amy's son was out shopping with us a few weeks ago. I noticed something fuzzy sticking out of his coat and I asked him,
"What is that Court?"
"It's my fox", he told me.
Amy went on to tell me that she had bought the little animal at some thrift sale and gave it away as a white elephant gift a few years back. This Christmas it ended up back at their house wrapped up as one of Court Christmas presents. It thought it was so funny to see a 7 y.o boy sporting fur around his neck!

Here is the front an back view.

Check out those buggy eyes!

It is about the time I do a little photo update on what I have been up to lately.
Skiing with D and visitors

Trying to stick to my healthy eating goal
Entertaining...My friends Becca and Sam came to visit last week. It was so much fun catching up and introducing them to Dustin. We went skiing, climbing, and ate out to our favorite little restaurant and just caught up! It seems Becca took all the pictures on her camera, so you will have to visit her blog to see what fun we had!
I picked up this book for Dustin and I to work through, its a fun little book with a million questions, some you would think to ask the one your dating and others well they crack you up! We had so much fun (well Becca and I did) going through some of these over dinner one night. It is a great way to really get to know people! You should pick one up! (I got it at Urban Outfitters.)
Keep me in your prayers when you are praying for Haiti. I may be heading over to Haiti to help out. I went this morning to get my vaccines. I will hopefully be going in the next month or so with the DEMPS (Disaster Emergency Medical Personnel System) program through my work, to help out with wound care. I still don't have a ton of details but I will keep you posted.

Started this project today. Becca and I found these vintage candle stick holders and thought they would make a great center piece! I brought them out to the garage for a few coats of spray paint...end result coming soon!

I finally got a picture in this awesome rustic wood frame that I found at a thrift sale last summer. It is a photo from our Hunters Frying Pan backpacking trip last summer.

I just love the very rustic detail of the wood.

And Dishes they never seem to end!

But there is nothing quite like a clean empty sink!

Taxes! I have been piling up all the forms I need to get started, now all I need is my W2! I can't wait for my tax return!

{My 2010 goals}

1. Read the Bible in 90 days.
Our church is doing a challenge that takes you through the bible in 90 days and I have decided to commit and take the plunge. It is amazing to reread through some of those stories that you have not heard since you were a kid...there are so many details we missed!

2. Run a 1/2 marathon.
For Dustin and my 1 year anniversary I gave D a certificate that gives him the opportunity to pick where and when we do this thing this summer. I just started hitting the gym again today (its been way too long and my muscles are screaming after all those lunges!) hopefully once it starts warming up and the snow melts we can run outside again.

3. Can something this summer/fall. I am planning on planting a garden again this summer and would love to learn the skill of canning...even if its only a few jars. I don't want this to become a lost art form!

4. Send more hand written letters and make more phone calls. I hate losing touch...and there is nothing quite like snail mail with your name on it.

5. Budget. After 1 year of having a real job and making real money I still have not figured out a budget...I want to start saving for a house!

6. Take more classes...whether its to gain more RN knowledge or just to relax and let my creative juices flow.

Not a long list, but hey maybe I will actually achieve them this way! Happy New year!
