Moab or Bust...

This has got to be one of the best trips any woman can ever go on.....

It's the Fraiser Valley Baptist church annual Girls Gone Godly Trip to Moab.

Just take a group of women set only 3 rules... no husbands, boyfriends or pets and throw them in a van...your pretty much guaranteed a great time.

As you cross the Utah Colorado boarder you will hear shouts of excitement...

And as you settle in after a 6hr car ride you will hear songs of worship...

Your day will be filled with climbing, hiking, fishing or biking...

And a shared love for Christ will be quite evident when fellowshiping in this glorious place He created.

New friendships will be formed (with people from your same home town!)

And old friendships revived

All this while exploring all the cracks

And crevasses of Moab Utah!

The scripture verses we focused on during our devotional time was this: Zephaniah 3:14-17
Sing, O Daughter of Zion; shout aloud, O Israel! Be glad and rejoice with all your heart, O Daughter of Jerusalem! The Lord has taken away your punishment, he has turned back your enemy. The Lord, the King of Israel, is with you; never again will you fear any harm. On that day they will say to Jerusalem, "Do not fear, O Zion; do not let your hand hand limp. The Lord you God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quite you with his love, he will rejoice over you with signing."

Road Trip Continued...

After Bishops Castle we continued South until the Sangre de Cristo Mountains were right in our faces. We stopped in a little town to check out the shops that were open on a Sunday afternoon while enjoying the warm sunny weather.

As we were winding our way back toward Denver we followed the Arkansas river. There were plenty of spots to pull off and stretch your legs. It was so nice out we had to get out of the car and enjoy the day.

There were guys fly fishing all up and down the river.

Plus plenty of warm sunny rocks to climb and layout on. (Yup that's me at the top).

As we were heading back I saw signs for the Royal Gorge. If we were this close we had to stop! The pictures below speak for themselves.

We walked across the highest suspension bridge in the US, and peered at kayaks below.

Road trips are always fun when your with someone you like.

Bishops Castle

After the delay of the snow storm last weekend Dustin and I decided to hit the road Sunday morning. I have been here in Denver for about 7 months and hardly have begun to explore. So Dustin planned a little road trip to show me part of Southern CO. We stayed in CO Springs at his parents Saturday night to get a 2hr head start on the trip South. First stop was in Rye CO where Dustin grew up. He took me to see 2 of the cabins his dad had build while they lived there. Next stop was Bishops Castle. This crazy palace was built (and is continuing to be built) by a single man with whatever scraps he finds and no blueprints...talk about imagination!

The stair cases wind and hover over 2o foot drops...its not for those who have the slightest fear of heights. The view from the top however is spectacular!

Inside the main area are these beautiful colorful stain glass windows which fill the room with a flood of sunlight. It is quite the place...and its free!

Meet Milo...

Friday was quite the snow storm here in Denver. We got over 12 inches of heavy snow...fast! While I was at Dustin's on Friday we stopped by his apt office to pick up a package he had received. While I was waiting in the car I saw a little brown spot moving in the deep snow. Before Dustin got back in the car I made him check it out. It turned out to be a freezing little bunny, he was so cold it was hardly moving, I walked right up to him and scooped him up. We headed back to Dustins place and started warming him up. After a few phone calls we had a plan...keep him warm and try and get him to eat! Below is a pic of him just after we got back to Dustin's still cold and wet...look how small he is!

After just one night and a little lovin he was a frisky little guy again. So frisky we spent 30 min chasing him around Dustin's place. Isn't he a doll! I am heading up to Winter Park today with this little guy by my side, to see his new home at the Petersons.

Happy Easter!

He is risen!
There is so much to be thankful for on this rainy April day. But the greatest gift we have been given is new life through Christ who died to save us
He is risen indeed!

A Great Place to Create!

My days off this week consisted of spray painting, spray painting and more spray painting. I have been meaning to get to work on my craft room but it seemed, it would always get pushed a side for another time. So last weekend I painted a door that was conveniently left behind by the old tenant, slapped some legs on it and set it up. Next came the task of painting all the old metal office supplies I had found at thrift stores fun cheery colors. Yesterday I set it up and started to organize. I pulled out all my scrapbook stuff, sewing supplies, and other art paraphernalia and got to work. It was a fun endeavor and now an even better place to create!
Here it is!

Fresh Dried Fruit While You Sleep!

Before

After...

I have been wanting a dehydrator for some time now, but have been waiting until I stumbled upon one at a thrift store. Well just a couple of weeks ago was my lucky day! For $5 I got a brand new never used 1980's Snackmaster Jr.! The box claimed that this machine is great for the outdoors man, health nut, chef, and families. So I put it to the test that night. I cut up some bananas, pineapple, mango, kiwi, and apples, the directions said to dry for 8-10 hours so I turned it on and headed for bed. In the morning I had fresh warm dried fruit. Delicious! And so easy!
