Sick Sick Sick!

I never get sick...saying this to Dustin a few months ago may have jinxed me...big time. I have been fighting some kind of cold/flu bug for almost a month now. I came home from work last night early because I was feeling awful all over again. It seems that this little bug dies off a bit and all I have to fight is congestion and then it changes it mind and I end up with a fever aches sore throat and major congestion. So I called the Doctor and am hoping to get in today to get something that will help me kick this thing! I am sick of popping decongestants and flying through the Kleenex. Today I will rest (its the best medicine right?) and catch up on my laundry.

10 Days Back Home In WI...

My trip home last week was a whirlwind, its amazing how quickly 10 days can fly by! So here is the short and sweet of what went on...

Jo graduated high school! woohoo!

I got to catch up with my high school buddies like Elizabeth who just got back from Cambodia

and Becca who has been having fun exploring Berkly California. There were many others, however I did not always have my camera handy and ready.

When we I got back to Madison I had to go pick up my niece and nephew who I have been missing like crazy! We went to BratFest and did our damage in helping set the new record! Zaiah and I got our pic in front of the Wiener Mobile with the giant hot dog we created.

Zaiah is my sweet boy with a face full of charm

And his sister Adreanna is our "baby girl" who's quickly growing up and full of fun.

We had to stop at Culvers it had been way to long since I had tasted their creamy frozen custard! mmmmmmm....

Nick, Alex, B, and I went on a hike up in Baraboo on that misty/rainy dreary Wednesday but managed to still see the beauty of WI!

That night for dinner my friend Rachel drove all the way from Milwaukee just to see me. We went to Flattop grill and did some major catching up.

The next day I got together with Chelsea for a hike at Devils lake.

Then we met up with Dave and Michelle for dinner and drinks.

Saturday night was a night out at the Union. This has to be one of my favorite spots in Madison to hang. Great view (your right on the lake), Free music, and a fun atmosphere. Michelle and I met up with friends...

And then our old nursing school buddies showed up for a little reunion.

I had a little time to catch up with Rachelle and Brook to see how nursing in Chicago was going.

Ahhh...Sunday. My last full day in Madison. We pick up Isaiah and Adreanna again and spent the day playing snuggling and having fun. Later that night we packed in the car and headed to church. As we walked in the kiddos had to walk up on the 3 foot retaining wall, its way more fun to balance then just walk in on the ground=) Well on the way Adreanna decided to change directions miss the corner and take a dive right down to the cement...on her head. My mom saw the whole thing happen and ran to pick her up. Her eyes rolled back and she was out of it for about 20 seconds. We called 911 and when she woke up she was screaming and crying. So we spent 4 and a 1/2 hours in the ER. Within the first hour Adreanna had stopped crying and became her cheerful happy self. The doctor took a look and told us to keep an eye on her and if any thing changed to bring her back in. Man ER's are not a fun place to spend a Sunday night! So I snuggled with my sweet girl that night and work up to this cute face.

Like I said the time went way to fast. I did get to see tons of friends and family who I dearly miss! I did a little shopping with my second fam Lynn and Sarah, hung with my grandma, and my grandma and grandpa, and enjoyed time with my fam. What more could you ask for?

Is everyone out there having a boy?

So it seems I have surpassed the summer of weddings, that phase of my life is over...on to the baby showers! Left and right I am hearing people are pregnant...and guess what???its a boy! I am so excited for all my friends who are having or who have just had their little cuties. Today I went to a shower for a girl that I go to church with name Amanda. She is expecting a little guy who they will name Noah, in June. So break out the craft supplies and away we go. I am glad this shower was this weekend, it forced me to finish this project that my friend Jessica sent me months ago.

This little sock monkey is tons of fun to make and also very easy,

And the egg carton idea is great for all those little things you want to get the mom to be.

Julie's Birthday Party

Last Saturday was my friend Julies 28Th birthday party...if there's one thing I have discovered about this group of friends i have made at church, its that they love to throw parties! So this surprise shin dig was a black tie event that was full of food dancing and fun.

Julie the birthday girl and myself

A group of the gals all glammed up.

Tina getting her dance on with Scott and Luke.

Luke one of the host of the party decided to do a spoof of the "dundees" from the show "The Office" He thought up some clever rewards. I ended up with the crafty McGyver award...most likely to make something out of nothing...he had us all laughing.

...and Me and Dustin

Happy Nurses Week!

This week Nurses are being celebrated all over the country. At the VA on 5 North this week we have been dressing up and eating well. Moab or Bust...

This has got to be one of the best trips any woman can ever go on.....

It's the Fraiser Valley Baptist church annual Girls Gone Godly Trip to Moab.

Just take a group of women set only 3 rules... no husbands, boyfriends or pets and throw them in a van...your pretty much guaranteed a great time.

As you cross the Utah Colorado boarder you will hear shouts of excitement...

And as you settle in after a 6hr car ride you will hear songs of worship...

Your day will be filled with climbing, hiking, fishing or biking...

And a shared love for Christ will be quite evident when fellowshiping in this glorious place He created.

New friendships will be formed (with people from your same home town!)

And old friendships revived

All this while exploring all the cracks

And crevasses of Moab Utah!

The scripture verses we focused on during our devotional time was this: Zephaniah 3:14-17
Sing, O Daughter of Zion; shout aloud, O Israel! Be glad and rejoice with all your heart, O Daughter of Jerusalem! The Lord has taken away your punishment, he has turned back your enemy. The Lord, the King of Israel, is with you; never again will you fear any harm. On that day they will say to Jerusalem, "Do not fear, O Zion; do not let your hand hand limp. The Lord you God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quite you with his love, he will rejoice over you with signing."
